UW Receives NAVFAC Contract to Develop Marine Renewable Energy

The U.S. Navy has committed to get half of its energy from renewable sources by the year 2020. One element of that strategy will be looking to extract energy from tides, currents and waves. The University of Washington is helping to reach that goal with an $8 million, four-year contract from the Naval Facilities Engineering Command, or NAVFAC, to develop marine renewable energy for use at the Navy's facilities worldwide.

SPI Solar Enters Agreements to Acquire Six PV Projects Totaling 360MWs in China

Solar Power, Inc., a vertically-integrated photovoltaic solar developer, today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, SPI Solar Power Suzhou Co., Ltd. has entered into a framework purchase agreement with ZhongNeng GuoDian New Energy Development and Investment Jiangsu Co., Ltd., with the intention to acquire six PV projects currently under construction in China, and another framework purchase agreement with ZhongNeng GuoDian Green Ecological Cooperation and Development Jiangsu Co., Ltd., with the intention to acquire the equity interest in ZhongNeng New Energy.

Eastern Municipal Water District in Perris, California Acquires Tecogen Emissions Reduction System

Tecogen® Inc. today announced the sale of its proprietary emissions reduction system to the Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) in Perris, California. The system will be a larger scale version of Tecogen's Ultra emission after-treatment product, this time applied to a 48 liter engine to be fueled by biogas, extracted from an anaerobic digester at the District's Moreno Valley Regional Water Reclamation Facility.
