One of the largest exhibitions in the world for the solar sector Intersolar Europe will launch novel technological solutions meant for solar heating purposes to interested visitors and trade specialists at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre during June 9 – 11, 2010. Intersolar Europe will display an idea through which buildings can cover a minimum of 50% of its heating requirements utilizing solar heat.
Generally, solar thermal power is produced by converting solar energy into heat energy. Nevertheless, the solar thermal technology’s full potential in providing heat for homes and buildings has not been realized yet. The German Solar Thermal Technology Platform (DSTTP) estimates that in less than two decades solar thermal technology is likely to be the major producer of heat energy in domestic heating systems. Apart from providing heating, it will also be used for air conditioning and cooling.
The "SOLARHAUS 50+" special exhibition will demonstrate the process by which the energy from sun can be utilized in heating homes. Visitors can witness the special exhibition at Hall C2, booth C2.310. The special exhibition offers alternatives for solar renovation as well as details the steps required for achieving high solar energy coverage levels in buildings. This special exhibition’s expert partners are the Sonnenhaus Institute, the Stuttgart University Institute for Thermodynamics and the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems.
The solar industry associations that support Intersolar Europe are the International Solar Energy Society (ISES), the European Solar Thermal Industry Federation (ESTIF), the European Photovoltaic Industry Association (EPIA), the German Solar Energy Society (DGS) and the German Solar Industry Association (BSW-Solar).
