Ventera Energy offers the Ventera wind turbine model VT10-240. This wind turbine incorporates a downwind type of rotor and three blade fx63-137 type of airfoil with 7: 1 tip ratio.
The diameter of the rotor is 6.7 m and the rotor is designed with optimum twist and taper. The blades of VT10-240 wind turbine are made of injection molded fiber engineered plastic. The optimum rated speed of the rotor is 270 rpm and with regulator it offers 250 to 270 rpm speed.
This wind turbine from Ventera Energy is mounted on a hinged type of fold-over tower with a three leg pattern and a top adaptor. The four guy type of fold over tower is made of five inch sized tubes and is offered in 21, 27 and 36 m heights. This wind turbine is designed to supply to grid 10 kW power at 13 m/s. The propeller running cut-in wind speed of this turbine is 2.7 m/s, and its survival wind speed is 55 m/s. The main frame and hub of this wind turbine are made of dye-cast 356-T6 recycled aluminum and weight of the tower top is 230 kg. This simple wind turbine incorporates only five moving parts such as rotor, yaw, and outer blade regulators.
The VT10-240 wind turbine incorporates a 32 pole, brushless and rare earth PM alternator generator with a rated three phase 15 kVA, 240 VAC power output at 250 rpm. The synchronous inverter utilized in the wind turbine has 10 kW wind output and 2 kW solar output with dual peak power tracking. This 12 kW continuous rated inverter provides 12.5 kW power to grid at peak of its performance. The output of the inverter is rated as 24 VAC 60 Hz. This wind turbine meets all the UL and utility safety requirements.
