Bosch Solar Energy supplies the Polycrystalline solar cells. These solar cells perform substantially even in poor light conditions and offer higher level of power production. The tolerance margins of these solar cells are kept low for increased power production.
Each square solar cell measures 156 mm x 156 mm with a tolerance limit of ± 0.5 mm. The average thickness of cells vary from 200 to 180 ìm with variation in tolerance limits such as ±40 and ±30 ìm, respectively.
The cells use a coarse textured 2 mm silver busbar with silicon nitride antireflective coating as negative contact. For positive back contacts a 4.5 mm silver busbar with full-surface aluminum BSF is utilized. The estimated dark reverse current in the absence of light is Irev < 1.5 A at –12 V and performance sorting plus sort is +50/–0 mW. The cells are offered with different class ratings such as 3.89, 3.85, 3.80, 3.75, 3.70, 3.65, 3.60 and 3.55 with variations in electrical data such as Pmpp, efficiency, Vmpp, Impp, Voc and Isc. The 3.89 classified cell has a Pmpp of 3.89 – 3.94 W, an efficiency of 15.98 – 16.19%, a Vmpp of 515 mV, an Impp of 7.579 mA, A Voc 616 mV and an Isc of 8.148 mA.
The polycrystalline solar cells provided by Bosch Solar Energy meets the electrical classification requirements of IEC 60904 and IEC 60891.
