New Sinvert photovoltaic solar (PVS) inverters from Siemens have achieved efficiency levels as high as 98.4 percent. The company’s device line can be deployed in medium-sized and large solar power plants. The transformerless inverters are capable of delivering graded power outputs.
Sinvert central Inverters offer 0.2 percent higher efficiency level than that offered by similar products in the market. Operating them in master/slave mode not only increases plant availability, but also improves plant service life. Besides, the efficiency level is higher than that of conventional stand-alone systems, as Sinvert inverters can be made in or out of service, based on solar radiation availability.
Top-level efficiencies achieved by these inverters result in a high yield when operated to feed medium-voltage grids. Available in photovoltaic containers, the inverters are complete with the all medium-voltage components.
Sinvert PVS inverters can be quite readily integrated into Scada systems by using standardized communication interfaces. Performance data can be viewed easily on a touch screen display The inverters comply with the guidelines of the German Association of Energy and Water Industries for medium-voltage devices, meeting all requirements including active power control and Fault Ride Through (FRT).
