SunSaver MPPT Solar Controller from Morningstar

Morningstar offers the SunSaver MPPT solar controller with TrakStar technology. This maximum power point tracking battery charger is used in off-grid photovoltaic systems. The smart tracking algorithm featured in this solar controller increases the energy harvest up to 97% from the PV systems and initiates load control to stop over discharge of the battery. The charging process of this solar controller is devised to achieve long battery life and better system performance.

SunSaver MPPT Solar Controller

The SunSaver MPPT solar controller is securely enclosed in a die cast aluminum and epoxy encapsulated box to protect against weather vagaries. This solar controller can be used along with 36 or 24 V PV arrays and achieve enough power to charge a 12 V or 24 V battery. This controller can be used even with smaller PV systems up to 400 W. The SunSaver solar controller offered by Morningstar has a dimension of 16.9 cm x 6.4 cm x 7.3 cm and weighs 0.60 kg. The peak power efficiency of this controller is 97.5%, its nominal battery voltage is 12 or 24 V, its maximum battery current is 15 A, its battery voltage is in the range of 7-36 V, and its maximum PV open current voltage is 75 V. This solar controller offers a nominal PV output of 200 W to a 12 V battery and 400 W to a 24 V battery.

The SunSaver MPPT solar controller can efficiently operate in temperatures ranging from –40°C to +60°C. This smaller-sized solar controller is totally protected from most of the system faults. The solar controller is manufactured in an ISO 9001 certified factory and meets the requirements of CE and RoHS compliant certifications.
