Apollo Solar and CECS to Collaborate in Solar Power Plants Development

Apollo Solar Energy, Inc. plans to tie up with China Energy Conservation Solar Energy Technologies, Inc. (CECS) for building power stations using thin film solar panels. Apollo Solar produces high purity compounds and metals for the photovoltaic (PV) industry.

Under the non-binding agreement, Apollo Solar and CECS will collaborate in many ways. First, Apollo solar will supply thin film solar panels to CECS for building PV grid-connected systems and thin film solar power stations. Second, the companies will together develop solar power stations. Finally, CECS will acquire thin film solar power stations developed independently by Apollo Solar.

Apollo Solar CEO Renyi Hou said that Apollo Solar is pleased to enter into the collaboration agreement with China Energy Conservation. Hou pointed out that the only company to be funded by the China Energy Conservation Investment Corporation is CECS. Hou expressed hope that working with CECS would promote Apollo Solar’s competitive advantage in building scaled solar energy power stations.

Zhao Youmin, CECS senior vice president, said that Apollo Solar was selected as the strategic partner, as it is a pioneer in the field and has the requisite technologies, resources and network. Youmin believes that as a state-owned operator of renewable power plants, it is the duty of CECS to take the green energy industry in China to the next level.
