XZERES offers the XZERES ARE442 wind turbine. This wind turbine incorporates an efficient rotor design authenticated by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and generates 40% more energy. The design of the ARE442 wind turbine limits the number of moving parts to reduce wear and tear of the parts and save on service and maintenance costs.
This direct grid connected wind turbine has slip rings at the turbine end to prevent twisting of connecting wires. The XZERES ARE442 wind turbine is directly connected to the grid utilizing two WB6000U (6kW) type of inverters.
The voltage clamp incorporated in the wind turbine corrects the vagaries in the input AC voltage to DC and restricts the maximum output voltage to keep the inverter in good shape. The rotor utilized in this wind turbine incorporates three up wind type of blades, and measures 7.2 m in diameter and weighs 825 kg. The rotor offers a total swept area of 41 m2. This wind turbine model produces a maximum of 10 kW power at 11 m/s wind speed and its estimated cut in wind speed is 2.5 m/s. The three-phase neodymium permanent magnet alternator installed in the turbine converts the wind energy into electrical energy.
The ARE442 wind turbine is offered in a range of tower designs such as tilt-up tower, guyed lattice tower, self supporting lattice tower and monopole tower. The towers are offered with fall arrestors and safety climb systems.
