ECI Wind and Solar offers the Proven 15 kW wind turbine. This wind turbine incorporates a downwind self regulating type of rotor.
The rotor measuring 29.5 ft. in diameter incorporates three blades made of thermoplastic glass composite material and the head of the rotor weighs 2424 lbs. The rotor is fixed over a tilt-up tapered type of mast. The self supporting mast does not use guy wires for support. The Proven 15 kW wind turbine offered by ECI Wind and Solar incorporates a hub measuring 49 ft. or 82 ft and optional taller sized hubs are also available.
The tower of this wind turbine weighs 3258 or 6160 lbs according to the height of the tower. The 15 kW wind turbine comprises a brushless, direct drive and permanent magnet generator. This grid connect model wind turbine utilizes a 230 Vac 50 Hz or 240 Vac 60 Hz Windy Bay inverter for connectivity. This wind turbine offers a maximum of 150 rpm. The Proven 15 kW wind turbine with an optimum wind speed of 27 mph charges a 48V DC battery and produces an annual output of 15,000–30,000 kWh power. The cut-in wind speed of this wind turbine is 5 mph and it can withstand a maximum wind speed of 156 mph. This wind turbine incorporates a patented technology that allows the rotor blades to furl and twist in high velocity winds. During the furling process the blades attain conical shape thus reducing the diameter of the rotor while continue to maintain the designated rpm for power production.
The estimated noise level of this wind turbine at 11 mph speed is 48 dBA and at 45 mph speed the noise level reaches 65 dBA. For durability and long years of usage, all the parts utilized in the wind turbine are manufactured utilizing galvanized steel, stainless steel and reinforced plastic.
