Canadian Solar Modules Utilized in an Italian Solar Farm

Solar company Canadian Solar has completed and commissioned a solar farm situated in Umbria in Italy. The SOLARTA installation with 1 MW capacity comprises 4,000 Canadian Solar CS6P 230-Watt modules that can generate 1.18 MWh of clean energy annually and achieve carbon dioxide emissions reduction of 16,000 tons.

GE Progetti & 3i, a Canadian Solar partner, conducted the installation. The installation was done on a rural area spanning two hectares. Arranged geometrically in various rows, the photovoltaic panels of Canadian Solar occupy 50% of the total area.

The SOLARTA project is connected to the domestic electrical network. The energy produced from this project will be fed directly into the grid. In an effort to have maximum exposure to sunlight, the solutions used by SOLARTA are kept at a 28-degree angle.

Canadian Solar’s CS6P are large-sized standard modules with dimensions: L 982 x P 40 x H 1638 mm. The modules are used in grid-connected systems, having 60 solar cells that can deliver high-energy conversion. The technologies utilized for designing and producing these modules provide excellent yield, durability and high performance.
