Solar company Canadian Solar Inc. has been chosen as a Top 10 finalist in the “photovoltaic” category for the Intersolar Award for the company’s innovative NewEdge series. At the Intersolar 2010 during June 9-11, Canadian Solar will exhibit its products. The novel ClearPower module and the CS6X power module will be showcased at the exhibition.
With power output of around 300 W, the CS6X modules are ideal for applications in residential rooftops and solar farms. The company’s ClearPower modules are ideal substitute to glass-on-glass BIPV products. The modules can be seamlessly integrated into buildings and are ideal for facades, roof windows, greenhouses and whole-glass rooftops. In the future, customers can opt between a polycrystalline and monocrystalline version. Furthermore, customers can select their level of transparency ranging between 10-40%.
The NewEdge modules of Canadian Solar feature the proprietary Zep Groove. The modules are compatible with traditional systems and with the novel Zep Solar installation system meant for residential purposes. The cost-effective Zep Solar installation system has less number of parts and therefore can be quickly installed. The system facilitates homeowners to reduce installation time to around 75% and installation expenses to around 50%.
Canadian Solar provides a wide range of solar PV products, with outputs varying between 0.3 W to 300 W. One of the latest achievements of the company is the successful production of cells utilizing Enhanced Selective Emitter technology (ESE). The ESE cell structure helps improve monocrystalline cell efficiency to 18.5% and polycrystalline cell efficiency to 17%.
In January 2010, five CS series module types of the company were ranked highly in the PV USA PTC rating. The solar modules of Canadian Solar provide long-term performance, superior reliability, high-yield and superior efficiency to comply with the worldwide standards.
