Diversified manufacturer and flexible packaging company LPS Industries has completed a 704.34 kW rooftop installation of Solyndra solar panels in the U.S. This system will generate 25% of the energy required for the manufacturing facility spanning 165,000 square feet. This installation will also help reduce energy consumption.
This LPS Industries comprises 3,870 solar panels of Solyndra generating more than 825,000 kWh of power and removing carbon dioxide emissions of over 1,100,000 pounds annually, sufficient to power over 100 homes annually or take away 93 cars off the roads annually. This solar system was engineered, designed and installed by Solis Partners, in combination with a novel white-colored ‘cool’ roof system. For the purpose of financing, procurement, staged rooftop delivery and logistics, Solis Partners partnered with Allied Building Products.
With the strong expertise of Solis Partners of federal and local incentives, the company collaborated with local utility Allied and PSE&G and LPS Industries to ensure a cost-effective, turn-key solar system for LPS Industries. This project was partly financed through the PSE&G Solar Loan program which is likely to be paid back by Solar Renewable Energy Certificates (SRECs).
