Buderus offers the Logasol SKS 4.0 solar collector to manage heating applications such as water heating and backup for central heating. This solar collector offered in vertical and horizontal designs is filled with inert gas to stop formation of condensation inside the solar collector.
The SKS 4.0 solar collector is air sealed to stop entry of air and other contaminants. The safety glass used for covering the collector has increased light transmission ratio up to 91%. The fiberglass frame used to hold the collector guards the collector from weather vagaries and resultant mechanical influences. The absorber utilized in the Logasol SKS 4.0 solar collector offered by Buderus converts up to 97% of the radiant heat into power.
The double meander incorporated in the module allows increased heat transfer and higher level of performance. To minimize heat loss back panel of the solar collector is thermally insulated and the seams of the solar panel are ultrasound welded. The height x width x depth measurement of SKS 4.0 vertical model solar collector is 81-1/2 in. x 45-1/8 in. x 3-1/2 in. and its dry weight is 101 lbs. The gross collector area of this module is 25.96 sq.ft. The SKS 4.0 solar collector holds 0.30 gal of heat transfer fluid and its stagnation temperature is 400ºF. Maximum operation pressure of this collector is 145 psi and its maximum flow rate is 1.07 gal.
The Logasol SKS 4.0 solar collector is low in weight and can be easily integrated to a roof module or installed over a roof. This solar collector can be easily installed over flat roofs or walls by utilizing stainless steel plug-in type of connectors or solar hoses with spring clips.
