Hummer Wind Power offers the Hummer 2 kW wind turbine. This low wind speed turbine incorporates a direct drive generator. The patented ‘in-the-hub’ generator utilized in this wind turbine generates less heat and low level of noise.
This wind turbine is light in weight and can be installed easily. The slip ring incorporated at the yaw shaft prevents cable twisting during rotor operations. This wind turbine incorporates three blades made of glass fiber reinforced plastic and each blade measures 3.8 m. The cut in wind speed of this turbine is 3 m/s, and this wind turbine achieves maximum 2000 W power production at 9 m/s speed and 450 rpm. The maximum output of this wind turbine is 32,000 W, its charging voltage is 120 VDC, and its output voltage ranges from 110 to 240 V. For protection against over speed this wind turbine utilizes yaw regulation and manual speed protection.
The generator incorporated in the wind turbine offers 80% efficiency and outputs single phase frequency conversion AC rated charging current in the range of 0–370 Hz. The Hummer 2 kW wind turbine weighs 75 kg.
