Carmanah Provides Carmanah-Sabik Solar Lanterns to Mark Oil Spill Containment Booms

Carmanah Technologies Corp., by means of its collaboration with Sabik Oy, is supplying Carmanah/Sabik solar LED marine lanterns to mark the Gulf of Mexico’s oil spill containment booms.

By means of the efforts of the marine distributor of Carmanah Technologies in Texas named Channel Safety and Marine Supply, numerous yellow and white Carmanah/Sabik M650 and Model 502 solar LED marine lanterns have been supplied to mark regions including waterways and open bays, where containment booms pose risks to navigational safety. The company is collaborating with its Texas-based manufacturing associate to ramp up production and supply of hundreds of surplus lights over the coming days.

This is not the first instance that Carmanah Technologies has responded to a time of crisis. In 2005, following the Hurricane Katrina catastrophe, Carmanah Technologies supplied self-powered, self-contained solar LED lighting solutions to help keep marine, road and air traffic in that region moving safely.
