This 5 kW wind turbine generates its peak power output at 22 mph wind speed with a rotor speed of 240 RPM. The design of this wind turbine allows it to produce power at a start up wind speed of 4.4 mph. The dynamic braking system incorporated in the wind turbine controls the rotating functions of the wind turbine when the cut out wind speed reaches 40.3 mph. The ReDriven 5 kW wind turbine manufactured by ReDriven can withstand wind speeds up to 90 mph. This wind turbine incorporates a direct drive technology replacing the traditional gearbox usage thus saving on maintenance costs and materials used.
The active Yaw of this wind turbine is electric powered and places the rotor in wind direction all the time to achieve maximum power output. This resistive load wind turbine produces 59 dBA sounds at 70 ft and offered with a 5 kW on grid controller and a PVI-6000 inverter.
