Henkel Bags 2010 Automotive News PACE Environmental Award

Henkel Corporation has bagged a 2010 Automotive PACE Environmental Award at a ceremony in Novi, Michigan on June 16. This award was presented for its Aquence Co-Cure coating process. This environmental award recognizes suppliers in the automotive sector for innovation that contribute towards environmental sustainability.

The process of Aquence Co-Cure coating reduces environmental impact as it does not contain any sludge or heavy metals. The process also reduces waste treatment costs and energy consumption.

This award-winning process simplifies traditional metal pretreatment by decreasing it to a coating process with only two steps, thus decreasing the footprint of production by around 40%. The Aquence Co-Cure process has already been accepted by numerous industries such as home appliances, alternative energy structures, agriculture, automotive and construction equipment. This process enhances corrosion protection and offers complete part coverage.

The corporate vice president of Henkel Chuck Evans stated that the company’s Aquence Co-Cure process improves the overall value as well as the productivity of production operations, while complying with stringent environmental requirements.
