Gamesa offers the G128-4.5 MW wind turbine. This powerful wind turbine incorporates individual pitch and multivariable control, and its drive train does not use high speed rotating components.
The modular electric power system incorporated in the turbine allows partial working of the unit and segregates the mechanical block from the loads caused by voltage fluctuations. The weight less blades used in the wind turbine are made of organic matrix composite reinforced with fiber glass or carbon fiber and manufactured using InnoBlade technology to reduce weight.
The two sectional blades utilized in the wind turbine measuring a total of 62.50 m in length has an inboard section measuring 30.50 m and an outboard section measuring 32.00 m in length. The rotor of the wind turbine measures 128 m in diameter and offers a swept area of 12,868 m². The clockwise rotating rotor offers a rotational speed of 12 rpm. The conical tubular tower of this G128-4.5 MW wind turbine manufactured by Gamesa is made of post tensioned prefabricated concrete or structural carbon steel and measures 120 m in height. The two planetary stage gear box installed in the wind turbine offers a ratio of 1:37.88.
The permanent magnet synchronous generator installed in this wind turbine comes with parallel independent modules. With 448 rpm rotational speed the generator offers a power of 4.5 MW with a voltage of 660 V and a frequency of 89.6 Hz. The G128-4.5 MW wind turbine incorporates a full converter with independent modules. The converter offers a power of 4500 kW, a voltage of 690 V AC and a frequency in the range of 50 to 60 Hz.
