Ingenero, a solar company, has announced that it will develop and install one of the largest flat panel solar plants at the University of Queensland in Australia. Apart from the rooftop project, the company will install the SolFocus solar array that is ground mounted, based on Concentrator Photovoltaic (CPV) technology. Consequently, for the assessment of cutting-edge technologies, this activity will create a platform for research and training. This project will supply clean power to the university.
This project is expected to be launched in Brisbane at the St. Lucia campus of the University of Queensland. This 1.2 MW solar system will be set up across four rooftops. The system will feature around 5,000 Trina Solar units of polycrystalline silicon solar panels. This solar system will not only supply green, clean energy, but also invaluable information on the effect of embedded solar generators on power distribution networks. This is the latest project in the collaboration between Ingenero and the University of Queensland.
Furthermore, the company will donate a CPV system from SolFocus, its equipment supplier, the 8.4 kW SF-1100S array to the University of Queensland. This will be used for a comprehensive training and research program at the University of Queensland.
