SANYO Canada, SANYO electric’s subsidiary, has declared that the “SANYO” brand name of the company’s HIT solar panel will by replaced to “Panasonic” effective from April 1 of 2012. These HIT solar panels are well-known in Canada especially for its power-generated-per-square-foot performance.
The Panasonic Group currently performs the consolidation of brands of specific products, including the unification of the brands of solar modules. With the combination of capabilities of SANYO’s solar technology and wide global network of Panasonics, the company will develop further synergies inside the group and also enhance the strength of the solar business across the world.
Koshi Terakawa, SANYO Canada’s President, stated that the change in brand name of certain products is mainly performed by the Panasonic group with a focus on the global expansion of its solar business. Terakawa said that even though the brand of SANYO’s solar panel is changed to Panasonic, the SANYO’s sales and manufacturing structure is retained. Terakawa added that the Panasonic Group will focus its investment in the solar industry, which permits the company to deliver increased level of service and high-efficiency products to its customers and business partners.
SANYO Canada is focusing to consolidate the environmental contribution and its business growth for ensuring significant growth potential, in order to fulfill the Panasonic’s 100-year anniversary vision statement of representing the “No.1 Green Innovation Industry in the electronics business” by the year 2018.
