Innovative Windpower offers the Falcon 1.25 MW wind turbine. This wind turbine incorporates a novel gear box system with a patented gearbox solution.
The integrated main bearing incorporated in the turbine is formed with safety components and offers years of service life. The gear system can be maintained on board without the requirement of an external crane system. A web SCADA monitoring system incorporated in the wind turbine allows monitoring of wind load and wear and tear conditions from remote for managing scheduled maintenance and to avoid expensive replacement of parts.
The generator of this wind turbine is flange mounted to reduce weight and vibration during the operation. The automated field service feedback system (AFS) incorporated in the Falcon 1.25 MW manufactured by Innovative Windpower is supported by radio frequency identification (RFID) system connected to the main components. This feature allows real-time documentation of all activities and technical details for future use.
The Falcon 1.25 MW wind turbine is available in 62, 64 and 70 m diameter rotors for use in IEC-I, IEC-II and IEC-III type of wind locations. The terrain of this wind turbine can tilt up to 6 in. and utilizes an individual blade pitch type of pitch system. An AC electric servo-drive serves as pitch drive. This wind turbine incorporates two step planetary type gear box.
This grid-connected wind turbine produces a maximum output of 1250 kW and its grid connected voltage is 690 V with 50–60 Hz frequency range. This wind turbine starts rotating when the wind speed reaches 3 m/s speed and ceases its rotating operations when the wind speed reaches 25 m/s. This wind turbine incorporates steel and concrete type of towers and offered in 60, 75 and 100 m tower heights.
