Kyocera Corporation Provides Solar Modules to Toyota Motor Corporation

Kyocera Corporation has announced that it has commenced the supply of solar modules to Toyota Motor Corporation for use in the Toyota Solar Panels. Toyota is planning to deploy the modules in recreational boats produced and sold by them. The Toyota solar panels will also be made available to other recreational boat manufacturers for optional installation.

Solar Module for recreational boat

Since May 2009, Toyota is offering Kyocera solar modules as an option for its Toyota Prius car users. The Toyota Solar Panels will generate electricity that will help in charging batteries, which in turn can be a reliable power source for the electronic devices in boats. While solar power brings down CO2 emissions, it also saves the batteries from non-use-related damages.

Kyocera has exhibited the solar module at the PV Japan 2010 solar energy trade exhibition at Pacifico Yokohama Japan. It has tested the modules thoroughly for shock, vibration and heat resistance and various other related ratings. The company has set up an exclusive production line for the production of modules and used the services of dedicated engineers to ensure quality all through the production process.
