Broadway Stages Switches to Green Energy with Solar Power Project

Broadway Stages, a leading sound stage facility in New York, has partnered with the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), Greenpoint Energy Partners (GEP) and Solar Energy Systems, LLC (SES) on a solar power system, which will decrease the energy expenses of the film stage by over $70,000 annually. Broadway Stages is a site for producing television series, music videos, commercials and feature films.

SES has completely carried out the designing, engineering and installation of this solar PV system, which is likely to meet 32% of the annual electrical needs of Broadway Stages. The power generated is equivalent to powering 120 homes annually. The financing for this project will be handled by Greenpoint Energy Partners, LLC, which serves as the project developer. The NYSERDA provided financial incentives of around $900,000 Broadway Stages for this project.

The CEO and president of the NYSERDA has appreciated Broadway Stages’ commitment to utilizing renewable, clean energy that will decrease the film stages’ environmental impact.
