British Gas, a company engaged in the business of unearthing, extracting, distributing and supplying of natural gas, in the world wide up coming markets has initiated a £15 million project to equip 1,100 primary and secondary schools with free solar systems, through the next five years. The company is arranging to dispense solar systems assessed between £20,000 and £40,000.
The company anticipates annual returns of approximately £1.3 million in the form of UK feed-in duty and reinvests in the not for profit trust British Gas Energy for Tomorrow, for providing free installations all over the country.
British Gas in concurrence with the government initiated Community Energy Saving Program (CESP) will utilize, 50% of the investment towards schools from low income regions. British Gas has clarified that schools located all over the UK can enlist for the grant, involve themselves in a predetermined competition and win complimentary installations.
British Gas, Managing Director, Phil Bentley pointed out that the planned initiative for the schools would help the schools to know more about carbon emissions ,renewable energy and allow them to save on power bills.
