OutBack Power Systems offers the FLEXmax FM80-150VDC continuous maximum power point tracking charge controller. The unique MPPT software algorithm of the charge controller performs continuously and helps in increasing the array power yield up to 30%.
The active cooling and intelligent thermal management cooling features available in the charge controller allows it to operate at its full and maximum current rating of 80 A even in 40ºC high temperatures. The FLEXmax FM80-150VDC charge controller from the OutBack Power Systems supports a wind range of nominal battery voltages and conveniently brings down a higher voltage solar array to the level of charging a lower voltage battery bank.
The in built four line 80 character baklit display incorporated in the model operates at the touch of a button and shows the current performance status as well as system performance data for the preceded 128 days. OutBack Power Systems allows easy programming and monitoring of the controller operations by utilizing a MATE system display from remote through its integrated communication network. The FLEXmax FM80-150VDC is available with 12, 24, 36, 48, or 60 VDC nominal voltages. The maximum output current of this model is 80 A at 40ºC. The open circuit voltage of this module is 150 VDC during very cold conditions. Its startup and minimum operating voltage is 145 VDC. During non-operating conditions the charge controller consumes less than 1 W.
The power conversion efficiency of this module is 97.5% at 80 A in an usual 48 VDC system. The charge controller operates in -40 to +60ºC. The height x width x depth of the charger controller is 41.3 cm x 14 cm x 10 cm. and weighs 5.56 kg. This controller is ETL listed and meets the certification requirements UL1741, CSA C22.2 No. 107.1.
