VLSI Standards Expands Solar Cell Certification Service

VLSI Standards, Inc. has expanded its present Solar Cell Certification Services portfolio by including the ISO-17025 accredited certification of client delivered production cells of size around 156 mm x 156 mm. 

VLSI Standards provides various traceability ways to internationally recognize national laboratories and metrology institutes, such as Germany’s Physikalisch Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB), the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) located in the U.S. and Japan’s National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST). These novel offerings from VLSI Standards facilitate solar cell producers to comply with the metrology quality standards of their clients.

To assist solar cell producers validate claimed or targeted product performance meant for customer validation, internal quality control or marketing purposes, the Solar Cell Certification Service of VLSI Standards provides traceable measurements of cells of open circuit voltage (Voc), short circuit current (Isc), spectral response, cell area (or quantum efficiency), maximum power (Pmax), cell efficiency and fill factor.
