Cash Grants Amounting to $2B Earmarked by Obama for Clean Energy Jobs

On Saturday 3 July, 2010, American President Barack Obama gave an assurance of 2 billion dollars to corporations dealing with solar power to generate new employment opportunities to stimulate the weak economy

President Obama has said that the downturn had left Americans in an abyss that is left them bereft of about eight million jobs and it would take a long time for Americans to emerge out of that chasm.

The Republicans countered this scheme of the Democrats in their weekly GOP address by accrediting them for escalating the national debt to $13 trillion by May2010 and denounced the President and his team for splurging while the common American had been reduced to observing austerity measures.

The capital package announced by President Obama is one aspect of the federal incentives, which has created openings to construct solar panels and wind turbines. This activity will benefit America to take precedence in the clean energy economy. Nearly $2 billion in restrictive pledges have been granted  to  Abengoa Solar and Abound Solar Manufacturing by the Energy Department.

Abengoa Solar will be raising one of the major solar plants globally in Arizona and will provide emission free solar energy  to 70,000 households. and is estimated to create 1,600 jobs in construction and over 70% of the products and components needed to build the plant will be indigenous .

Abound Solar will be erecting two new plants: one in Colorado and the other in Indiana. These projects are estimated to create more than 2,000 jobs in construction with around 1,500 of them being permanent as the company incessantly produces millions of solar panels.
