Isolux Corsan Signs Contract for Ethanol Plant Construction in Colombia

Isolux Corsan has entered into a turnkey contract with Bioenergy, a Colombian company, a local oil company, towards the construction of an ethanol plant. Domestic oil firm Ecopetrol SA holds 85% stake in Bioenergy. The turnkey contract is towards an industrial complex construction that includes a plant for producing bioethanol from sugarcane.

The cane processing capacity of a plant in this complex stands at 2,100,000 tons per year. The complex also has a co-generation plant with 40 MW capacity that makes use of sugar cane waste or bagasse and other additional facilities for the purpose of milling, distillation as well as vinasse production. The $140-million contract is all set for construction and the project will start shortly with the engineering activity.
