Timken Bags Contract for Wind Turbine Supply to China’s Goldwind

The Timken Company (Timken) has bagged a $26-million contract for supplying wind turbine services and products to Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Technology Company (Goldwind) of China. Under the contract, Timken is all set to provide services for the Goldwind platforms located in China. Services include advanced bearings, condition monitoring systems and engineering as well.

Timken’s contract with Goldwind will have the ability to generate in excess of 1,500 MW capacity of wind power while collaborating on making developments on wind turbines in the future. It also reflects a broader scope of Timken’s commitment for developing wind energy technology.

The 1.5 MW as well as 2.5 MW platforms of Goldwind will feature condition monitoring systems and the novel Timken UltraWind tapered roller bearings. Goldwind is a global leader in the wind turbine industry while Timken is a global major in supplying wind-energy solutions targeted at the global market.
