In an effort to promote responsible custodianship of the Earth by reducing package waste and increasing the use of recycled materials, The Quest Group (parent company of WireLogic(TM)) today announced a new company green initiative. In accordance with the initiative, The Quest Group is transitioning all of its WireLogic products to new eco-friendly packaging.
WireLogic is migrating to the use of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) in its packaging, as PET breaks down in the environment at a far more rapid pace than the commonly used polyvinyl chloride (PVC). To eliminate waste, the company will use recyclable/recycled paper products and transition to bubble pack instead of clamshell packaging, reducing the amount of plastic used.
"Not since the 1970s has there been as much attention paid to eco-friendly or green initiatives," said Bill Boyer, vice president of sales, WireLogic. "Besides the company's support and belief in this emerging social and business development, The Quest Group believes in close collaboration with its retail customers. As many retailers have adopted green initiatives, we not only applaud this effort, but also are pleased to collaborate in this positive direction."
WireLogic kits began shipping in eco-friendly packaging mid-January 2008, with all products scheduled for the new packaging by the end of 2008.
