MAG, a company known for machine tools and systems world over, has formed a new renewable energy company to offer solutions on automation for wind turbines and solar panel manufacturing companies.
The company plans to carry out a turnkey contract for G S Power to construct, one of the biggest solar power plants in North Karnataka which, will commence during September this year and completed in the quickest possible time.
Dr. Siegfried Schmalzried, who leads MAG Europe as Head Renewable Energy, said the renewable energy business of the company made a good start and received orders worth more than 20 million Euros, which actually signify 30% of the market they aim to reach. He added that being a green horn to the business, did not deter them from establishing a leading position in building automated production systems for solar panels. He further said that his company has provided more than 30 automated manufacturing lines for solar panels all over the world, during the past five years, for reducing the production cost of solar panels.
Eswari Prasad, MAG India’s President, commented that the Indian solar photovoltaic industry is expected to grow from its current 300 MW production capacity to 1000 MW capacity by the year 2012, and how the demanding targets set by the National Solar Mission have set a learning curve for those associated with the industry. He detailed the experience of MAG in offering solutions for the manufacture of crystalline silicon and thin film PV modules to increase the return on investment and committed production support. He further explained how the company looks forward to offering efficient cost effective turnkey solutions.
