Natural Power Concepts Teams with Oshkosh Defense on Mobile Wind-Solar Turbine

Natural Power Concepts Inc., an alternative energy technology incubator based in Hawaii, has partnered with Oshkosh Defense for developing a mobile turbine which produces both wind and solar energy.

Natural Power Concepts has announced that the Renewable Energy Mission Module (REMM) will comprise a folding-blade turbine which can be supplied to military forward functioning bases as well as other remote sites by Oshkosh Defense vehicles fitted with a Load Handling System.

Apart from producing electricity, REMM systems can be outfitted with capabilities including desalination and water purification systems, powered by the integrated solar modules and wind turbine of REMM.

This wind turbine comprises seven blades rather than the conventional three blades and harnesses low speed winds as well. The electrical energy harnessed by the system is stored up in a battery bank.
