Chint Group Signs Agreement with Gansu Development and Reform Commission

Astronergy, also called Chint Solar, has signed a strategic cooperative framework agreement by its parent company, the Chint Group with the Gansu Development and Reform Commission, for investing in a 1 GW solar power projects and in 200 MW of production capacity.

This agreement symbolizes the intention of the province, to build and expand solar industry.  Feng Jianshen, a member of the Standing Committee, was optimistic that Chint Group will fully exploit the abundantly available solar potential of Gansu Province for deriving economic benefits. He advocated the use of advanced technology and skilled personnel in the projects. He wanted both the signatories to make, best use of the collective knowledge and skills of their joint venture to lay a firm foundation for renewable energy sources in the province.  The local government has agreed to intensify the tempo of all the approvals related to projects, extend assistance required at the construction sites, and concessions on feed in tariffs.

Chint Group enjoys the reputation of being one of the largest enterprises in China manufacturing low voltage electrical devices. The technological resources and use of competent workforce aids the company in the production of solar modules and photovoltaic systems. Chint group is also expected to take advantage of its auxiliary company Astroenergy’s competence and its experience in manufacturing solar products and systems.
