Scientist of Viral Genetics to Present Cost-Effective Biofuel Paper at AREDAY

Lead Scientist of Viral Genetics, Inc. Karen Newell will be presenting a research paper that indicates the creation of a low-cost biofuel during the 7th Annual American Renewable Energy Day (AREDAY) on August 21, 2010 located in Aspen, Colorado. Newell appears to have found a particular trigger mechanism that increases lipid or oil production in plants.

Developing a method for increasing oil production in plants has long been a barrier in bringing biofuels into the market. The discoveries of Newell have the advantage of leveraging plant sources that are not food crops, a problem faced for corn-based biofuels.

Newell will be given the privilege to address global pioneers in the area of green energy about a novel process that manipulates plant cells for producing more oil. The research appears to indicate that plant cells could be triggered towards increasing its fat stores. Newell holds the rights for numerous patent applications that cover a method for increasing the oil volume also termed as lipids, produced by plants and algae.
