Sea Breeze Power Corp Progresses with Knob Hill Wind Farm Project

Sea Breeze Power Corp, a Canadian company engaged in providing clean and sustainable green energy, has signed a deal with International Power Canada an auxiliary company of International Power a British energy company pertaining to the possession of the 99 MW Knob Hill wind farm project, with an option for the company and the first nations who are engaged in the project to procure equities in the Knob Hill project. This move will make Sea Breeze Power to enlist in the elite band of independent commercial electricity producer.

As per the statement issued by Paul Manson, President and CEO of Sea Breeze, the company has concluded the paperwork related to environmental issues and secured a contract with Hydro and waiting to complete its negotiations with the three first nations who are entitled to get a percentage on the economic benefits accrued from the Knob Hill wind farm project. The deal signed with International Power Canada will allow the benefit of the developer’s fee to Sea Breeze and will continue to receive the royalty revenue from Hydro for the duration of the energy purchase agreement.

The Knob Hill wind farm project is a part of BC Hydro's 2008 Clean Call that concluded during the earlier part of this month which allowed power purchase agreements for 27 green power projects to generate a total 3,300 GW hours a year to provide electricity to 300,000 homes in Canada. The project has enabled the company to grow in to a lawful developer of wind projects.
