TUV Rheinland, a company that conducts quality and safety testing meant for solar modules, has opened its new laboratory in Electronics City in Bangalore, India meant for testing solar systems and modules.
The company has made an investment of €2 million in this novel test centre that comprises equipment including two sun simulators and five climate chambers.
This new centre strengthens the service offering of TUV Rheinland in India meant for solar energy stations, comprising consulting, maintenance, operation and planning. Moreover, services will be offered to ensure the safety and quality of components and modules, in addition to monitoring the quality of production. Testing and certifying at this centre will be done in compliance with IEC as well as other international standards.
Approximately 80% of all manufacturers of solar modules have tested their products at TUV Rheinland for receiving international and national certification. Apart from its test laboratory in Bangalore, TUV Rheinland has test centres located in Tempe, Arizona; Taichun, Taiwan; Shanghai, China; Cologne, Germany; and two sites in Yokohama, Japan (GTAC and SEAC).
