Trans-Asia Oil + Energy Development Corp. to Launch Wind Power Project

Trans-Asia Oil & Energy Development Corporation will be conducting groundbreaking ceremonies for its wind energy project in the city of Iloilo, Philippines next month.

The project’s initial phase construction will be in the town of San Lorenzo under the Barangay M. Chavez site. Other possible sites are Barangay Salvacion and Barangay Sabang in Guimaras.

The project will be producing 8 MW of electricity initially. The production capacity of the plant will be gradually stepped up to 54 MW. The power demand of Guimaras stands between 5 MW – 6 MW, however the sole power provider for Guimaras is a 3.4-MW capacity bunker oil plant that is powered by fuel in Jordan town. Once the windmills get completed, the provincial government and investors will be installing a submarine cable connecting Guimaras to Iloilo.

The power generated from the wind mills might be sold to Panay and Iloilo in the future. Trans-Asia Oil & Energy Development Corporation would be investing $300 million on ten wind energy projects, with 123 MW overall capacity.
