ADAGE Develops 55-MW Biomass Project in Mason County

ADAGE, a company jointly formed by AREVA and Duke Energy, is currently developing a biomass project with 55 MW capacity in Mason County, Washington. This venture will be supplied with fuel by Green Diamond Resource Company that manages and owns timberland in the nearby area.

The ADAGE biomass plant will utilize waste wood that are left over from timber harvesting at Green Diamond Resource Company, while conforming to the requirements put forth by the state and the industry. ADAGE is currently working with John Deere, a forestry equipment manufacturer, towards establishing biomass collection systems in this region.

ADAGE was attracted towards Mason County due to its rich availability of forest biomass. The plant would be delivering clean jobs while tapping the renewable energy potential offered by Mason County through its forest energy.
