Green Earth Technologies today announced the addition of G-OIL Hydraulic(TM) to its current G-OIL product line that will consist of the highest demand viscosities and service rating: "Anti-Wear" AW-32, AW-46 and AW-68. Hydraulic Oils are the largest category of industrial lubricants (second only to engine oils for total lubricant consumed) with nearly 15 billion gallons being consumed worldwide annually. G-OIL Hydraulic Oils use an "ultimate biodegradable" base made from sustainable domestically grown beef, pork or chicken fat instead of petrochemical or synthetic base oils to reduce our nation's dependence on foreign oil.
"It is our opinion that hydraulic oils pose a greater risk than even motor oils to the environment since they are used in high-pressure systems that leak because of their nature," states Jeff Marshall, President and CEO of Green Earth Technologies. "We'll be priced slightly higher than current ‘non-green' hydraulic oils, but we've eliminated the fear of being fined or harming the environment while providing customers a green choice."
Mathew Zuckerman, Ph.D., Chief Technology Officer and Chairman of Green Earth Technologies, states, "Others have made Green Hydraulic oil, but they started with vegetable rather than animal fat. Before G-Oil, animal fat-based oils had limited use for they became solids at moderately cold temperatures. GET's proprietary process produces oils that exceed petrochemical-based oil's ability to operate at cold temperatures and even rival synthetics for low operating temperatures. The G-Oil contains only stable saturated carbon chains, single bonds between carbons, that mimics the composition of petroleum oil in contrast to plant oils that contain double bonds between the carbons that are subject to cleavage and once cleaved the material has no lubrication value."
