Nevada Solar to Construct Solar PV Project in Reno City

Nevada Solar Works LLC, a collaboration between CleanPath Renewables, Alternative Energy Solutions and Q&D Construction, has won a solar contract for building solar photovoltaic projects with an overall capacity of 1.3 MW for Reno City. The Reno City Council has approved a 1-MW water treatment plant along with 295 kW capacity solar installations at five different locations across the city.

Nevada Solar Works appreciates Reno City’s efforts in investments towards new jobs that offer clean and affordable energy sources. The solar arrays are expected to provide the city with a savings of approximately $2.5 million in the coming 20-year period while generating in excess of 60 clean jobs in construction, materials fabrication, engineering and design.

Nevada promises great potential and provides plenty of opportunities in creating a green collar economy that is sustainable. Construction on the initial project is scheduled to commence in October 2010. Q&D Construction is an engineering contractor and a local commercial builder. Alternative Energy Solutions provides solar design as well as installation services while CleanPath Renewables offers renewable energy to institutional, military and large-scale commercial entities.
