SANYO Joins Ryobi to Produce Solar-Powered Air Bus

SANYO Electric Group, a company engaged in the development of unique technologies and products and Ryobi Holdings Co a public transport operator, have jointly manufactured a solar vehicle called Solarve Bus, a green energy vehicle that gleams both inside and outside.

The Solarve Bus is a normal passenger bus fitted with solar panels over the top and sides of the bus to generate solar power and incorporates an air- cleaner that provides clean air inside the bus cabin. The solar panels installed over the top and sides of the bus presently powers only the interior lighting of the bus and it is the first of its kind in the world to utilize solar power to light the interiors, thus saving on the normal electricity produced by the burning of fossil fuel. It is anticipated that Sanyo with its proven capabilities in the electrical area may come with a fully solar powered bus.

The Eneloop air purifiers deployed inside the bus are developed in Japan and totally remove all types of malicious airborne germs. According to SANYO the air purifier almost removes 99% of viruses, bacterial and dirt from the cabin air of the Solarve Bus, thus making it difficult for the spreading of contagious diseases within the bus.
