DCS Energy to Provide Solar Installations to Salem Community

Recently, 44 solar panels with 205 W power each were installed on the rooftop of the Salem Free Public Library in Salem, Connecticut towards harnessing enough sun power for reducing the power bill of the library by $2,500 annually. The Salem community is believed to be quite a green one.

Earlier in July 2010, the Salem community partnered with DCS Energy by means of a program that offers solar technology free of cost to towns and facilitates the firm to regain money by means of rebates and state tax credits.

Under the agreement with DCS Energy, Salem has the capacity for purchasing these solar systems for $1 for each solar system after five years. DCS Energy is a member of ClubGreen as well as Northeast Sustainable Energy Association. The solar program ends on the 31st of December 2010. The uniqueness of this project is that a website will be providing access for the public towards real-time information about the systems.
