Solarfun Focuses on European PV Market

Solarfun Power Holdings Co., Ltd, a China head quartered company engaged in the manufacture of PV cells and allied products, has declared the opening of an office at Lille, a city in northern France to serve the clients and partners located in that region.

Solarfun considers France as an important and growing PV market in Europe with an anticipated installed capacity of more than 600 MW during the year 2010. The company has instituted business relationship with leading solar developing companies such as Meridian, Scatec and Ecistream and anticipates completing 15 MW installations during the year 2010.

Dr. Peter Xie, Solarfun’s President and CEO, pointed out that his company considers the investment and expansion into French market as important due to its growth in recent times and as well as the development in countries such as Italy and Germany. He added that the new office situated near Paris will allow Solarfun to penetrate the regional utility, business and residential markets with its quality solar products and technical know-how.

Solarfun’s office at France and its French operations will be led by Mr. Laurent Bodin who will be designated as Country Manager of Business Development & Operations.
