SunHydro Joins Toyota to Introduce Vehicles Utilizing Hydrogen Fuel

More number of cars that use hydrogen as fuel is entering the US car segment.

Recently SunHydro, an independently funded company that runs solar powered hydrogen fueling stations, has declared its contract with Toyota Motor Sales, USA (TMS), for the supply of 10 numbers of Toyota vehicles with advanced fuel-cell hybrid technology in Connecticut.

The delivered vehicles will receive fuel supply from the solar-powered hydrogen fuelling station located at the headquarters of Proton Energy Systems in Wallingford Connecticut.

Proton Energy Systems will supply the required hydrogen filling apparatus to SunHydro station. Toyota has agreed to the contract that coincides with its countrywide fuel-cell demo program of putting 100 such vehicles all over the state within the next three years. The 10 fuel-cell demo cars will be driven by the staff of  SunHydro and Proton Energy Systems and others in the group.

Tom Sullivan, owner of Proton Energy Systems and founder of SunHydro, called it a big step in the development of alternative fuels and expressed his happiness to associate with Toyota in the scheme that will help people to understand the hydrogen fuel-cell know-how. Michael Grey, SunHydro’s President, said that his company is willing to take the initiative for propagating solar-powered hydrogen fuel by constructing the required infrastructure to access the fuel easily.
