Oregon DOE Wants Horizon to Provide More Information on Proposed Wind Farm

The Oregon DOE (Department of Energy) is seeking further information from Horizon Wind Energy regarding its proposed wind farm. The DOE requires more answers for considering the application of Horizon Wind Energy towards building the complete Antelope Ridge Wind Farm.

Since Horizon Wind Energy intends to install these wind energy turbines in the Craig Mountain area near Union, the DOE had requested for a RAI (Request for Additional Information) and intended to clarify certain queries on previously submitted information.

In response to the DOE’s first RAI in December 2009, Horizon Wind Energy had filed a reply during February 2010. This new RAI seeks more detailed information such as the proposed number of turbines, length of the overhead and underground collection lines, length of novel roads, and potential location for a maintenance and operations plant.  This proposed wind farm has already created a lot of controversy in terms of the impact it would create on the environment.
