Drake vs. MSU Football Game Showcases Montana Wind Development Programs

A recent football game between Drake University against the MSU Bobcats on Sep. 18 became more than a football game since the university along with the government officials aimed at showcasing the benefits accruing from wind energy during the course of the event.

The event highlighted the state’s leadership towards the development of renewable energy while simultaneously providing hundreds and thousands of fans opportunities for learning more about the possibilities in wind development for Montana. Throughout this football game, wind energy as well as the role it plays towards Montana’s energy economy was highlighted. This event was designed towards educating and bringing awareness to the people of Montana State in their efforts towards developing alternative energy sources.

Wind energy has become a hot topic in the Montana schools as well as universities. MSU was one among the initial six states to have received federal funding towards the Wind Applications Center. Montana is also actively involved in the wind development program Wind for Schools that is aimed towards engaging and educating rural America in wind-associated projects while providing a sound knowledge base in the field of alternative energy and renewable energy.
