Mannvit Engineering, a company engaged in developing renewable energy sources, has declared the discovery of geothermal energy resources in Miskolc Hungary. The company was working at the behest of Pannergy a Hungarian energy company as consultant in its geothermal development projects in Hungary. The company has discovered the hot water potential at the depth of around 2 kilometers.
The initial tests on the geothermal discovery made by the company in Miskolc, hints that the dug well will provide roughly 70 to 90 l/sec of hot water with 115°C heat indicating higher level of water flow rate and temperature. This indicates that the area may have more resources than expected Mannvit will make further tests in the area to analyze and appraise the geo-science data collected from the site for selecting further sites for making boreholes, designing the borehole and managing the bore drilling activity. The company while planning more drilling operations will continue to study the test results of the earlier drilling operations. The successful finding of geothermal energy will allow Pannergy to construct a heating utility at the location and to provide heat facility to approximately 15,000 people living in the area.
Mannvit performs its operations in Hungary from its office located in Budapest. The company is also working on projects in countries such as Bosnia-Herzegovina, Turkey, Germany, Greece, Slovakia, Romania, and Slovenia.
