Xtreme Power, a supplier of Dynamic Power Resources (DPR) for large scale energy storage and power management companies, has declared its decision to associate with Castle & Cooke, Inc a real estate developing company to install DPR for a 1.125 MW solar system in its La Ola solar farm located at Lana’i Island, Hawaii.
Most of the solar power producing companies suffer hiccups when connected to the grid. The vagaries in power production due to adverse weather conditions will always cause problems in the grid connectivity. The Dynamic Power Resource (DPR), manufactured by Xtreme Power provides relief to such power producing companies by smoothening and regulating the clean energy output which can be directly connected to the grid companies devoid of any untoward impacts.
The La Ola solar farm though established in December 2008 was running into problems in delivering the produced solar power to the utility. The company was delivering only 600 kW of power to the grid of Maui Electric Company (MECO). The installation of DPR will allow the company to tide over its output variation problems and produce the designated 1.2 MW even during cloudy weather conditions, thus allowing the company to meet nearly 10% of the islands electric power requirements.
Carlos Coe, Xtreme Power’s CEO, said that their involvement in the La Ola solar farm amply demonstrates their know-how required for energy productions in Hawaii. He added that DPR has already made inroads in many of the wind power projects in Hawaii and expressed his happiness to perform a similar role in La Ola project. He concluded saying that his company is looking forward for more such partnerships in future.
