Topcell Solar to Meet the Growing Demand for Clean Energy

Topcell Solar International Co Limited, a solar cell manufacturing company and a unit of United Microelectronics Corporation, has announced its intention to increase its manufacturing capability to meet the growing demand for its clean energy products.

The company has announced its design to increase its current production capability of 150 MW to 450 MW during the early phase of the year 2011 and further increase it to 800 MW in the third part of the year. The company has completed its trial operations during August and has started its full fledged commercial operations now. For increasing its production capability, Topcell has announced its intentions to increase its paid up capital to 1.2 billion TWD by the end of September 2010 from the current level of 800 million TWD.

Lai Chunin lin, Senior Vice President of TOPcell, said that the company already has enough orders to fulfill up till the end of next year. He added that there is a growing demand for solar energy products in China and the company is targeting the country for the growth of its clean energy business. He further said that Everrich Energy Corporation another unit of UMC solar energy has finished the incorporation of a new 18 MW solar power plant in Shandong Province of China.
