Russia’s Borodino Group to Build Hydropower Project in Tanzania

Borodino Group of Russia has entered into a contract with Tanzania towards constructing a 222-MW hydropower project.

This hydroelectric power project is termed as the Rumakali project and will be constructed in the region of Iringa in Tanzania, which is situated at a distance of 500 km in the western direction of the country’s commercial capital of Dar es Salaam, costing $700 million approximately.

This project will be generating enough electricity for meeting almost 25% of Tanzania’s overall power demands on a daily basis.
